The ISW is a peer-based, participatory, learner-centred workshop that is designed to encourage personal growth and reflective practice.  Participants are expected to commit to teaching 3 mini-lessons in a small group and to providing thoughtful feedback to their peers.  Trained facilitators will share teaching skills and facilitate the group feedback process, but are peers in the process rather than experts.  Participation in the workshop should be voluntary.
Here is an Introduction to the ISW (from the ISW handbook).

Past participants give rave reviews of the ISW and offer advice to future participants:

"This workshop is extremely rewarding."

"Be prepared to have long days with 2 hours homework each night."

"Wipe your schedule completely clean for the whole workshop."

"Relax and don't stress about performance in your teaching."

"Clear the three days so you have no other commitments and enjoy."

"Try to enjoy exploring the many different learning opportunities in the workshop."
